Vice President WU Jiang Visits the United States

A delegation of Tongji University led by Professor WU Jiang, executive vice president of the University visited the United States from December 4th to December 9th,2016. They visited Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania and Georgia Institute of Technology and attended the Reshaping Education 2016 conference held by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) a British company specialising in education and study abroad, at Walton Business School. Prof. WU delivered a keynote speech at the conference. During their stay in the US, Prof. Wu met the representatives of Tongji University Alumni Association in Atlanta. People from Development & Planning Research Center, College of Architecture and Urban Planning and College of Electronics and Information Engineering of the university joined Prof. WU on the trip.
The delegation had a meeting with Prof. Soulaymane Kachani, dean of Columbia University, and Prof. Leora Brovman and Prof. Tiffany Simon, associate deans of School of Engineering at Columbia. Both sides reviewed the achievements of their previous cooperation, and explored the possibility of establishing joint programs including student exchanges.

While in Atlanta, Prof. WU also met alumni from Tongji University Alumni Association in the United States. He introduced to them the latest development of the University and its plan for the university’s 110th anniversary celebration. He showed concern for our alumni’s study, life and work in the US and listened to suggestions for the future development of the university.
