Autologous lung stem cell transplantation is listed in national first 8 stem cell clinical research

Not long ago, the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the Food and Drug Administration published the first batch of stem cell clinical research record project list. ZUO Wei, professor of Medical School of Tongji University with his team and professor REN Tao's team from affiliated Dongfang Hospital co-led the clinical research of human autologous bronchial basal cells (lung stem cells) transplantation in the treatment of interstitial lung disease, which passed the expert group assessment, as one of the eight stem cell clinical research projects, and formally from the basic research into clinical treatment research stage.
ZUO Wei said they got into the first clinical list and the team will take this as an opportunity to start the liver, kidney and uterus autologous stem cell transplantation research. At the same time, we will also look for more to carry out on a larger number of cases of multi-center clinical research, and report the production of cell products for approval of the Food and Drug Administration.
