Sino-Italian Campus
With a ceremony held in Shanghai on 16 September, 2006, Sino-Italian Campus was inaugurated. The Politecnico di Milano, Politecnico di Torino and Bologna University, for the Italian part, in collaboration with the Tongji University of Shanghai, for the Chinese part, have instituted a series of Double Bachelor Degree courses (B.Sc.), which will enable both Chinese and Italian students to obtain a degree recognized in both countries, including Mechanical Production Engineering–MPE, Information Technology Engineering–ITE and Automation Engineering–AE. The format of these programs is 3+1 for Chinese students and 2+1 for Italian students, while main courses are delivered in English and Italian by both Italian and Chinese professors. Meanwhile, the Sino-Italian Campus offers different Double Master Degree programs, such as Industrial Design, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Environment and Sustainable Development, Economy and Management, etc, collaborating respectively with Politecnico di Milano, Politecnico di Torino, University of Trento, IUSS of Pavia, Venice International University. And it also offers PhD exchange programs. Besides, the Sino-Italian Campus plays the role as a platform in Tongji University to promote and enhance cooperation of students and teachers mobility, research and human resource strategy with Chinese and Italian universities, institutions, and companies as well, under the framework of the Strategic Advisory Committee of the Sino-Italian Campus.
