Intellectual Property Institute of Tongji University (IPI of Tongji University) is a new school in Tongji University. Taking the advantages of Tongji University's leading science and technology subjects and its frequent connection with Europe, esp. Germany, IPI has always been keeping close watch on current international and domestic development in the field of intellectual property study, and aims at cultivating persons who are familiar and skillful with IP law and IPR administration. |

Owing to the great support from the university, many achievements have been made. On Dec.8th 2004, Prof. Dr. Joseph Straus, director of Max-Planck-Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law in Germany (MPIIP), was appointed as Honorary Director of IPI of Tongji University. At the same time, Prof. Zheng Chengsi, Commissioner of National People's Congress Law Committee, Director of IP Center of China Academy of |

Social Science, and Prof. Tian Lipu, Director General of State IP Office of PRC, were appointed as Honorary Directors of IPI of Tongji University. |
Now constant and stable academic cooperative relationships between IPI of Tongji University and MPIIP, and also other IP research unit in various universities, have been established. IPI of Tongji University has also built a stable cooperation with IP Administrative Department of State and Shanghai Municipality. |
Tongji IPI now offers programs leading to doctor degree in IPR Management and master degree in IPR Law，and also provides MBA/MPA programs for those interesting in intellectual property manager. |
