On June 21, 2017, the International Football College of Tongji University was established. Built upon the strength of the university-running resources, the college aims at building a complete disciplinary system covering undergraduate and graduate education through international exchange and cooperation and interdisciplinary approaches. It will be committed to developing specialized football research talents with high ideological awareness, cultural, and professional expertise, decision-making talents in international football strategies, intensive talents on football elites management, and practice-oriented football talents. These commitments are to promote scale effect as well as the intensive development of high-end football talents training in response to the rejuvenation and strategic development of China’s football career. The International Football College anticipates enrolling its first class of undergraduates and postgraduates in 2018.
