President CHEN Jie Elevated as IEEE Fellow

Professor CHEN Jie, President of Tongji University and a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, was elevated to be an IEEE Fellow at the meeting of the IEEE Board of Directors in November, 2018 for his outstanding contributions to the optimization and control of complex systems. The membership will be effective from January 1st, 2019.

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) is an international association of electronic technology and information science engineers, with more than 400,000 members in over 160 countries. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and a very important career achievement. The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the Board of Directors upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments in the progress or application of engineering science and technology for the mankind. The total number of Fellow recommendations in any one year must not exceed one-tenth of one percent of the voting membership on record as of 31 December of the previous year.
