The overall employment rate of Tongji University graduates of 2018 reached 99.20%, and the positive feedback from employers exceeded 99%, as of November 20th, 2018, according to Employment Quality Report of Tongji University Graduates in 2018 issued on January 10th, 2019. The updated data showed the positive impact of Tongji University's efforts on the graduate employment guidance in recent years.
A total of 7,910 students graduated from different programs of Tongji University in 2018. Under the pressure of unfavorable employment, the employment rate of graduates of the year 2018 reached 99.20%, a new high in recent years. The overall employment rate of graduates from Tongji University remained stable at a rate of 99%.
A total of 2,486 graduates of 2018 chose to do further study at home and abroad, reaching an overall rate of 31.43%. Among them, 581 students were admitted to the world's top 100 universities (QS World University Rankings 2018), 443 of whom were admitted to the world's top 50 universities, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Harvard University, University College London, Imperial College London and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich.
Among Tongji graduates in 2018, a total of 936 graduates registered to leave the country, of which 909 for overseas study and 27 for work. The majority of students left for the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom, accounting for 71.58% of the total number of outbound graduates. About 1,090 graduates have found jobs in Fortune Global 500 companies in 2018, accounting for 23.04% of all the graduates.
In addition, thanks to the cooperation platforms jointly built by Tongji University, UN-Habitat, the World Intellectual Property Organization and other international organizations, 11 students went to international organizations for internships in 2018.
