About the Lecture:
Cultural exchanges between China and Germany have a long history. The two governments have conducted cultural and educational cooperation since the beginning of the 20th century. The history of Tongji University is closely related to the development of cultural exchanges between China and Germany. Up to now, Tongji has become an essential window for Sino-German cultural exchanges. This lecture will review the historical evolution and important figures of the cooperation and exchange between Tongji University and Germany in history, and explore the century-old relationship between Tongji University and Germany from a historical perspective.
About the speaker:
Dr. HU Chunchun, associate professor, is the Deputy Director of the German Studies Center of Tongji University and Deputy Director of the Sino-German Cultural Exchange Research Center of Tongji University. His research interests are German literature, German culture, public diplomacy, and Sino-German cultural exchanges.
All Tongji students are welcome to participate in this event to learn more about the history of Tongji University, and explore the relatoins between the two countries.
