Accompanied by Irish ambassador in China, Mary Hanafin, minister of Irish Ministry of Education visited Tongji on the morning of February 24th. Tongji president Wan Gangmet the delegation in Yifu Building and held talks with them in students’ exchanging and teachers’ academic communication. President assistant Dong Qi attended the meeting.
Wan referred to the cooperative tradition of Tongji University, its features and advantages and the international resources to run a school. He hoped to strengthen the communication between Tongji and Irish universities.
Ms. Hanafin said that she was pleased to see the establishment of the cooperative relationship between Tongji and part of Irish universities. She extended her wish to deepen understanding through this visit and further collegiate collaboration in education and scientific research.
Principals from College of Civil Engineering, College of Economics and Management, College of Software Engineering and College of Electronic and Information Engineering attended the talk, and introducing international cooperation respectively.
