Tongji awarded the title of Tongji Honorary Professor to Dr. Udo Oels from Bayer Co., Ltd, and Dr. Klaus Wucherer from Siemens Co., Ltd.
Having been in the Board of directors of Bayer since 1996, Dr. Udo Oels is in charge of innovation, technology and environment in Asia. Due to his important influence in chemical industry in Germany and the world, Dr. Udo Oels also shoulder several social duties. Bayer has agreed to set up Endowed Professorship for Intellectual Property, supporting the development, teaching and scientific research of China’s intellectual property system.
Klaus Wucherer is member of executive committee of Siemens, president in Asia-Pacific Area of Automation and Driving Group, Industrial and Service Group, Transportation System. Dr. Wucherer made tremendous contributions to promoting Tongji-German Friendship Program, which was signed in Berlin in November 2005 under the testimony of Chinese president Hu Jintao and German president Kohler.
