The evaluation of Tongji teaching faculty and other professional positions 2006 started in mid March. Tongji furthered its renovation in professional technical position appointment system. Based on public recruitment for senior positions starting last year, all the senior posts are recruited globally this year, which becomes a feature of this year’s recruitment work.
It is said that Tongji plans to recruit about 100 seniors globally, including professors, researchers, directing doctors, about 200 deputy seniors. Appliers must meet basic qualities and requirements of senior positions. On the other side, people having obtained doctor’s degrees in famous universities outside China and having long experience abroad can be not limited by the requirement.
After the public recruitment in 2005, Tongji starts the re-employment of senior teachers employed in 2003. Preparations have been carried out. Tongji plans to practice employment to administrators from 2007 and to staff in library and laboratories from 2008. After the renovation, the employment system will be regularized.
