Tongji Created Over 20 Intellectual Properties

March 15, 2006

It is reported that Tongji’s ‘National Intellectual Greenhouse and Auxiliary Facility’ research program has invented over 20 intellectual properties, achieving world level.

The ‘Flower Plant’ made in China have helped to make millions of profit and have been exported to Japan. The achievement is awarded the first prize of Ministry of Education in 2005.

The ‘National Intellectual Greenhouse and Auxiliary System’ is one of the keys for the industrialization of economic plants around the day. Due to lack of self-owned technology, the advanced intellectual greenhouses in modern agricultural park were once all imported from Holland, Japan and France. Since 1997, Tongji collected advantages in automotive controlling, mechanical transmission, water processing and carried scientific research on ‘flower plant’. According to Xu Lihong, owner of the project, vice director of Modern Agricultural Science and Engineering Institute, the price of self-developed greenhouse is only one third of those imported. Besides operation cost is reduced greatly, cutting over 30% of fuel.

After the primary success of the research, the college will cooperate with Shanghai Changzheng Greenhouse plant for further popularization. In the end of 1999, two plants of 3000 square meters were established in Suqiao agricultural park in Pudong, accumulating about 23.4 million yuan in six years. Up till now, the national greenhouse has developed over 61 million yuan, attracting buyers from Janpan, Holland.
