Headed by Dr. Althaus, governor of Free State of Thuringia, German delegation of 26 members paid a visit to Tongji on April 4th, accompanied by Dr. Roehr, general consul of Germany in Shanghai. President Wan Gang met with the visitors.
Accompanied by president assistant Dongqi, the delegation firstly visited College of Architecture and Urban Planning and listened to introduction of Expo models. Later Dr. Althouse made a lecture of “Germany and China in the Era of Globalization” in Yifu Building. Students from CDHK, Department of German Language, the German School and the Institute of German Studies listened to the report.
President Wan Gang met the governor and made brief introduction of Tongji’s history, development, characteristics and external communication and cooperation. Dr. Althaus hoped universities in Thuringia could further collaboration with Tongji. Finally, on the witness of the governor, other members of the delegation, Tongji president Wan Gang and Prof. Zimmermann, president of Bauhaus University Weimar, signed the joint-development contract of “International Media and Designing Study”.
