On April 4th, Tongji conferred Dr. Oels, director of Bayer AG, the title of honorable professor. The conferring ceremony was held in the lecture hall of CDHK building. President Wan Gang extended appreciation to Dr. Oels for his continuous support to Tongji. Afterwards Dr. Oels made a lecture on “Sustainable Development”. Tongji vice president Zhao Jianfu, also attended the ceremony.
As a member of the Director of Boards of Bayer AG, Dr. Oels played an important role in the all-round cooperation between Tongji and Bayer. Bayer funded Tongji in the establishment of Intellectual Property Fund Chair and Sustainable Development Fund Chairs.
