Pro. Folker H. Wittmann, international renowned expert in concrete materials and the durability of concrete structure, academician of Russian Academy of Science, consulting professor of Tongji, director of Aedificat Institute, and that of Durability Center, Qingdao University, was invited to visit Tongji department of Architectural Engineering and communicated with members of the inspection team of 985 Project Phase Two. The feasibility plan of ‘Durability Complex Testing System under Complicated Environment’ charged by Department of Architectural Engineering has stepped into the last phase. Prof. Wittmann gave a high appraisal to the general plan and proposed valuable suggestions to several joint points.
In the afternoon, Prof. Wittmann held an academic reports on ‘Durability Design, and More Durable Materials’, which attracted nearly eighty people from different related departments.
