On May 17th, Dr. Zhang Yaqing, President of Microsoft China R&D Group was invited to be Tongji's Consultant Professor. The awarding ceremony was held in International Conference Center in Jiading Campus. Besides, Dr. Xu Feng, senior researcher of Microsoft Research (MSR) Asia, and Dr. Zhang Yizhao, vice dean of MSR Asia, were engaged as Tongji's part-time professor. Dr. Jiang Changjun, standing vice dean of College of Electronics and Information Engineering, presided over the ceremony. Prof. Yang Dongyuan, vice president of Tongji awarded the certificate to the three doctors. Over 700 teachers and students in Jiading Campus attended the ceremony.
After the ceremony, Dr. Zhang Yaqing made a lecture on "Initiative Strategy of High-tech Enterprises". He explained the 3A mode, three layers and waterfall mode, expected the future of China's information industry, and aired his own view of how to develop young students into technical talents. Later, Dr. Zhang showed the latest research achievement of MSR Asia.
After the report, the three doctors also held talks with present teachers and students.
