Bayer Delegates Visited College of Software Engineering

Headed by Ms. Zhang Jiawen, Chief Information Management Officer of Bayer China, Mr. Hoger Holstein, BMS SAP Asia-Pacific project manager of Bayer BBS China, and three professors from Bayer’s cooperative university in Germany, paid a vist to Tongji College of Software Engineering recently.

Bayer’s visit is to promote its mode of supporting some German universities to carry out joint study in information technology. It hopes to start the try from cooperation with Tongji. It is agreed that Bayer will provide a certain amount of budget annually to support the joint research project, while Tongji will send one or two young teachers in charge of the project, familiar wit Bayer’s main work in IT and searching for appropriate research project.

Prof. Thomas Leich also made a professional lecture for teachers and postgraduates of College of Software Engineering.

It is reported that during the 28thInternational Conference of Software Engineering (ICSE), a great number of famous experts paid a visit to College of Software Engineering, delivering speeches. Visitors are impressed by the comfortable teaching environment. One Canadian professor decided to work fulltime in the college during vacations from July next year, providing classes in wireless communications.
