On May 29th, Mr. Umberto Vattani, Secretary General of Italian Trade Commission (ICE) and president of International University of Venice paid a visit to Tongji. Accompaniers include Mr. Forte, chief representative of ICE, Shanghai Office, Ms. Silvia Massimi, representative of Italian Ministry of Environment and Territory in Shanghai. Mr. Wan Gang met the visitors in Yifu Building and introduced Tongji’s development and cooperation with Italy. The two parts also held discussion about exchanging project and cooperative prospect in environment, industrial design and art. Then visitors went around Tongji’s library and College of Environmental Engineering.
On May 31st, president Wan Gang was invited to attend the opening ceremony of “Italian Made Art: Today-Modern Art and Industrial Design Exhibition” organized by ICE. On June 1st, president Wan Gang conferred the certificate of Honorary Professor of Tongji University to Mr. Umberto Vattani.
Coordinated by offices of Italian Ministry of Environment and Territory in Shanghai, UNEP-Tongji College of Sustainable Development signed cooperative agreement with International University of Venice, mainly on scholarship program.
