Prof. Wu Zhiqiang, dean of College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP), and Prof. Zhou Jian, deputy dean of CAUP, attended the 30thUNESCO World Heritage Conference held in Vilnius, capital of Lithuania.
During the meeting, Zhang Xinsheng, head of Chinese delegation, chairman of the executive committee of UNESCO, vice minister of the Ministry of Education, made a clear deployment for the improvement of UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Research Center in Tongji CAUP. Prof. Wu Zhiqiang, made a report on the latest news of the research center, as well as work plan for the future half year. UNESCO introduced Tongji’s experience and directed that Tongji can carry out work based on existing plans to prepare launching the center on the first half next year.
During the conference, Chinese delegation successfully applied for the appraising of "Panda Habitation" and "Ruins of Anyang in Henan".
