During the "Designing Contest of Official Mansion of Chinese Embassy in Germany" organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the plan made by Tongji Architectural Design and Research Institute (ADRI) won the bid in last minute. The official mansion is now under designing and will be built in Pankow District Berlin.
Themed on "Four-season Courtyard", the design connect Chinese traditional special element with modern forms, constructing the architectural image of embassies or consulates representing Chinese features. The plan is hosted by Prof. Li Zhengyu, and Prof. Cai Yongjie from CAUP, Wang Zhijun from ADRI. Postgraduates Lai Junheng, Zhang Ziyan and Dong Yijia participated in the designing.
