On the morning of September 26th, President Wan Gang met with Mr, Marc Pecsteen, the new general consul of Marc Pecsteen of Belgium in Shanghai, Mr. Eric Bletard, consul of Business and Economic Affairs, and Ms. Isabelle De Coen, assistant of general consul.
During the meeting, President Wan Gang introduced Tongji’s general information and the features and concept of Tongji’s international cooperation, He hopes to strengthen and expand cooperation with Belguim universities, and welcomes Belguim enterprises to get involved in school-enterprise cooperation or provide scholarship. Owners from Foreign Affairs Office, College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP), China-France College made introductions of Tongji’s joint projects with U.N., German, France and Italy, cooperation in urban planning between CAUP and Belgium University, the management and teaching mode of China-France College, project operation situation and college features. General Consul Marc Pecsteen asked about the selection process, recruitment scale and communication mode of the joint project, and show willingness to improve cooperation between Belgium universities and Tongji. Besides, General Consul Pecsteen also stated that minister of High Education in French area as well as presidents of famous universities are possible to pay a visit to Tongji at the end of October.
Tongji signed collegiate cooperation agreement with VUB (Vrije University Brussel) on January 19th, and now has established cooperative relationship with Ichec Business School, Catholic University of Louvain, La Cambre Institute of Architecture, Sint Lukas University.
