On October 13th, Zhou Jialun, director of School Affairs Committee, met with Mrs. Miriam Alpizar Santana, Minister of Education from Cuba. Owners from College of Ocean Science, College of Material Science and Engineering, and Foreign Affairs Office also attended the meeting.
Mr. Zhou introduced Tongji's centurial development. He pointed out that Tongji was willing to explore more communication and development with other countries and areas in other fields, while consolidating contact with Germany, France, and Italy. He stated that China and Cuba enjoyed a history of friendly relationship. Tongji was willing to establish and develop academic communication with Cuba. Mrs. Santana extended her willingness to cooperate and communicate with Tongji and introduced in detail about possible cooperation.
After the meeting, the guests visited the National Key Laboratory of Oceanic Geology a nd the Material Token Center of the College of Material Science and Engineering.
