On October 13th, Mr. Zhou Jialun conferred the certificate and medal of Shanghai Mangolia Prize 2006 to Prof. Maassberg from CDHK. Mr. Zhou appreciated Prof. Maassberg's over ten years' support to Tongji's efforts in Germany, especially his contribution to strengthen cooperation and contact with enterprises after he assumed the role of coordinator of Department of Mechanical Engineering of CDHK. Prof. Maassberg thanked for Tongji’s approval for his work, and the great honor Shanghai government has awarded him. He hoped for more contribution to CDHK and Tongji’s development by his experience and work.
Shanghai Mangolia Prize is to award foreign people who have made great contributions to Shanghai's development by Shanghai People’s Government. Up till now, four experts from Tongji have won the prize. Prof. Maasberg was once president of Ruhr-University Bochum and is now coordinator of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of CDHK.
