Headed by Mr. Kautz, Minister of Science and Arts of the State of Hessen Germany, the delegation from six German colleges visited Tongji’s Jiading Campus on the morning of October 23rd. President Wan Gang held friendly talk with the 13 delegates in the International Conference Hall.

In the talk, President Wan introduced Tongji’s development history, disciplinary setting and foreign cooperation, Mr. Kautz showed his expectation that the 12 colleges in Hessen cooperate with Tongji’s CDHK, Medical School, and Music School, as well as talked about the feasibility of co-developing interns with Tongji’s several departments, especially hoping more German students to study and intern in Chinese colleges. President Wan stated that Tongji could help German students contact Shanghai enterprises to find internship. Besides, considering Mr. Erich Paulun, the founder of Tongji, was born in Darmstadt Hessen, Mr. Kautz suggested an event organized in Darmstadt during Tongji’s 100thAnniversary. Attendees of the meeting also include Tongji President Huang Ziping, Dong Qi, Dean of CDHK Feng Xiao, Deputy Dean of College of Automotive Engineering Ma Jun, and Deputy Dean of German Academic Center Li Guoqiang.
Before the talk, Minister Kautz visited the Apple Laboratory of College of Software Engineering, and the large-scale host computer system valued US$ 10 million donated by IBM. After that, Minister kautz came to CDHK and got known the college setting and future development of the college.
After the talk, the delegation visited the New Energy Engineering Center accompanied by Mr. Ma Jun. Minister Kautz also took an experiencing drive of theChaoyue III, the self-developed fuel cell automotive by College of Automotive Engineering.
