On Oct. 30th, Chen Xiaolong, vice president of Tongji presided over a conferment ceremony in Yifu Building. At the ceremony President Wan Gang awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Tongji to Dr. Wu Heyue, member of Siemens Management Committee and adorned him with the school badge of Tongji. Later, President Wan offered his congratulations and extended hearty gratitude to Dr. Wu and Siemens for their standing supports to Tongji.
After the ceremony, Dr. Wu delivered a speech titled “Future of Automation”. His profound sights into the automation trend and innovative drive were shared and appreciated by over 100 attending students and teachers from School of Sino-Deutsche Engineering and Sino-Deutsch College.
The cooperation between Tongji and Siemens has been established for long time. So far, Siemens has already carried out various in-depth cooperations with School of Sino-Deutsche Engineering, Sino-Deutsch College, Sino-Deutsche Hospital of Amity, College of Telecom, College of Automotive Engineering and many other colleges. The technical supports of Siemens in the field of automation and telecom pithily enhance Tongji’s academic authority in that regard.
