The Italian delegation of Emilia-Romagna and Bologna University visited Tongji recently.
During the visit, Mr. Chen Xiaolong, vice president of Tongji signed an agreement of feasibility measurement on joint education program with the director of Productive Activity Bureau of Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The agreement proposed to set up an experts committee in the coming three months to work out a training program with Emilia-Romagna characteristics for Tongji students on the fields of mechanism, electronic and IT. The program will help students get a better picture of the economy of Emilia-Romagna and its enterprises in China, as well as provide them with more internship opportunities. Bologna University is one of the time-honored prestigious universities in Europe. Tongji plans to carry out a multi-aspects and all-round cooperation with Bologna on undergraduate, graduate and doctorial level so as to accelerate the development of the newly-built Sino-Italian College.
In addition, Vice president Chen and the delegate of Bologna University signed a memorandum of understanding on co-launching a double-degree program of automation engineering undergraduate training on the platform of Sino-Italian College. The Italian gusts also appreciated with relish the introduction of the Sino-Italian Center and the establishment of Sino-Italian Society of Friendship. They expressed strong interests in building an communicative platform of innovative industries with Tongji.
The Italian delegation also paid a visit to Jiading Campus. They were much impressed by the advanced scientific researching conditions and the notable achievements of international interflows of the School of Software Engineering and the College of Automobile.
