The presidents of College of Built Environment and Engineering and College of Science of Australia Queensland University of Technology visited Tongji the other day.
On November 10th, the director of Built Environment and Engineering of Queensland University of Technology, Australia, Prof. Martin Betts together with his companion visited Tongji. The president assistant of Tongji, Wang Bowei rendered cordial welcome to the guests and hosted a meeting. Experts from College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP) and College of Environmental Science and Engineering also attended the meeting. During the meeting, both parties reviewed their cooperative experiences and achievements over the recent few years. Mr. Betts hoped to extend their cooperation into further and broader areas and appreciated the idea of setting “exhibition week” of CAUP in QUT. Besides, in-depth discussion was also carried out on QUT’s signing a project with National Foundation of China over a joint doctorial training program.
Four days after, another Australian four-people delegation led by Prof. Margaret Britz, dean of the Department of Science, QUT paid a visit to Tongji. College of Life Science Prof. Mou Jianming and Prof. Zhu Jian received the guests cordially. During the meeting, both parties shared their experience and idea on education and scientific research and international communication. They also exchange views over the potential cooperative programs. Later, the visitors toured around the laboratories of CLS.
