A pediatric dentist delegation of 10, led Mr. Paul A. Kennedy, president of American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation (AAPD Foundation) visited the Research Institute of Pediatric Stomatology, Tongji University.
The director of the Institute Prof. Shi Sizhen received the guests and delivered a special report on the current situation and development of pediatric stomatology in China. In particular, the report elaborated on the achievements of medical treatment, education and scientific research by the Institute. The American counterparts spoke highly of the endeavor and contribution Tongji has made to the development of Chinese pediatric stomatology, and showed great appreciation to the internationalized clinical technologies and programs. They also expressed intention to enhance the interflow and cooperation with the Institute in the field of pediatric medicine. Besides, Dr. Kennedy presented to Prof. Shi a thanks-letter and donated a good volume of literature of pediatric stomatology on behalf of AAPD Foundation and the Association of People-to-People Communication of America.
The delegation also toured around the Stomatological Treatment Base located in the Institute and were much impressed by the modern medical facilities and comfortable treatment environment.
