Recently, leaders of Tongji with Prof. Zhu Shaozhong as the delegate went to Taiwan to visit Taiwan Alumni Association of Tongji. Prof. Zhu introduced to the alumni the development of Tongji in the recent years. He also invited them to attend the century celebration of the university to be hold next year. All of them are quite delighted at the progress that Alma Mater has made in teaching, research, social service, international communication and cooperation and so on. They expressed sincere wishes to Alma Mater and willingness to assist in person in celebrating the anniversary.
During their visit, the delegate leaders, on behalf of the university, also attended Prof. Ni Chao's 100thcommemoration. Prof. Ni, former president of Taiwan Cheng Kung University, had graduated from Tongji university in 1933. In particular, the leaders paid a call on 105-year-old alumni—Prof. Zhang XiangXian, former dean of the school of technology in CKU. Mr. Zhang is prestigious in Taiwan industry and research field with the good name "Father of Technology". He is still keen-witted with a clear mind despite the old age. He showed concern to Alma Mater's development and wishes to its anniversary.
It is reported that the leaders also visited Taiwan Kun Shan University of Technology, National Formosa University, and Feng Chia University. They changed views and reached consensus with leaders in those universities on how to promote their cooperation tighter in teaching and research. Later they attended Feng Chia University's 45thanniversary celebration on invitation.
