In Nov.19 and 20, under the lead of the chairman Prof. Wintermantel, the 5 of German Rectors Conference (Hochschul rektoren konferenz HRK) delegation visited Tongji. The purpose of their coming to China is to attend Chinese and German Universities President Forum and Talks on Chinese and German Higher Education held by Ministry of Education in China. The members of the delegation include the presidents of University of Bayreuth, Aachen TH, University of Koeln and Würzburg University.
Wan Gang, the president of Tongji, met the delegation and introduced to them Tongji and its communication with Germany, with the focus on the close relation with German enterprises. Mr. Wintermantel gave it high praise. The members also discussed with president Wan the matters of enrollment, graduates' employment, structure of research institutions, training of young researchers, further education, ranking of universities, preparation training for studying in Germany and so on.
After the meeting, the delegation looked around the School of Architecture and Urban Planninng, and heard the introduction about its Sino-German associated training program of graduates and 2010 Expo program. All of the members highly praised those achievement made by Tongji.
