Tongji Visiting Delegation in Hong Kong, Vietnam and Malaysia

Recently, a visiting delegation of Tongji, led by Mr. Zhou Jialun, director of the Committee of School Affairs concluded with success its one-week visitation to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Malaysia. The delegation consisted of president assistant Dong Qi and the stuff of the College of Civil Engineering and the Office of Foreign Affairs.

During the stay in Hong Kong, Mr. Zhou was interviewed by Phoenix TV. He presented a detailed review on the past days of Tongji and made an exposition on the current development, especially on that of the strong disciplines. At the end of the interview, Mr. Zhou on behalf of the faculty and the students of Tongji extended sincere invitation to all the alumni home and aboard to reune at Tongji's Centenary Celebration in the coming May.

When in Vietnam, Mr. Zhou and his retinue attended the Forty Anniversary of Vietnam Architecture and Civil Engineering University in Hanoi.At the ceremony, Mr. Zhou was invited to deliver a speech. He gave high credits for the accomplishment by Vietnam Architecture and Civil Engineering University over the past four decades and wished a good wish for its prospects. On that afternoon, Mr. Zhou met the president of Vietnam Architecture and Civil Engineering University and the minister of Education and Training. He proposed several constructive ideas on how to further the cooperation with Vietnam. Later, he also met Vietnamese alumni of Tongji and expressed both satisfaction and expectation on their business. Over the past decades, Tongji has cultivated many a graduate with good ability for Vietnamese high schools including Vietnam Architecture and Civil Engineering University, dedicating great contribution to the economic taking-off of Vietnam.

While in Malaysia, the delegation visited Kuala Lumpur Infrastructure University. Tongji and KLIU signed a memorandum on joint training program in the field of civil engineering. At the signing ceremony, Mr. Zhou delivered a speech and envisioned a brilliant future of cooperation between Tongji and Malaysia.
