On the afternoon of November 20th, a twelve-people German delegation of tertiary education, led by Mr. Meyer Krahmer, State Secretary of Office of Federal Ministry of Education and Research paid a visit to Tongji. President Wan Gang rendered cordial reception to the German guests in the Sino-Deutsche Center. Vice president Dong Qi and other executive leaders of Tongji also attended. During the reception, the two parties reviewed with relish their cooperation and joint programs over the past few years.
After the meeting, the delegation made a tour to the College of Architecture and Urban Planning. Having chatted genially with the dean of the college, prof. Wu Zhiqiang, they gained a clear picture of the undergoing preparations for 2010 Shanghai Expo.
The next morning, the visitors went to the Sino-Deutsche Engineering College in Jiading Campus, starting their inspection on the running of the college -- their main purpose of visiting Tongji. The college is a joint program sponsored by German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and China Ministry of Education. Prof. Feng Xiao, dean of the college received the visitors and delivered a detailed report on the development of the college.
