On Nov. 30th, the vice acting president of Tongji University, Mr. Li Yongsheng rendered a cordial reception in Yifu Building to the visiting guests ---- Dr. Bob Hobbs, inspector general of the research enter of United Technologies Corporation (UTC) and Mr. Trilokekar, general manager of UTC, China. Mr. Li informed them of the undergoing development of Tongji in the areas of the “Green Energy” Architecture, the reservation of ancient buildings, the transfer of research results and students' training programs. Meanwhile, Mr. Li also expressed intention to launch more collaboration with UTC in scientific research, staff training program, hoping that the two parties could carry out more discussion on issues of both concerns and that more Tongji graduates would work for UTC. Besides, Mr. Li suggested UTC deliver more presentations on Tongji campus in the form of lectures, exhibition or so to well inform Tongji students and teachers about the demand of the market or provide more internship opportunities for the students as a mind-broadener. Dr. Hobbs showed appreciation to the suggestions and willingness to carry out cooperation with Tongji by miscellaneous means and in various aspects. The meeting was also attended by the heads of College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP) and Department of Foreign Affairs.
Before the meeting, the visitors had a tour around CAUP and made informal talks with the experts of the concerning fields.
