On the afternoon of Jan 4th, 2007, Tongji president Gang Wan met ?, director of Italy land and ocean environment R&D department. The guest introduced their presentation of environment protection project and techniques achievements in Italy to Shanghai World Expo 2010 committee. The projects like tepidity turbine, clean resources and public transportation that Italy is now cooperating with Tongji will play an important role in the World Expo in Shanghai. During their conference, the two sides both show their determination to work together for the success of the projects. Meanwhile, they recommended their research achievements to Chinese public and related organizations on the occasion of Tongji 100thbirthday.
President Gang Wan mainly introduced our efforts and achievements in energy-saving, environment-protecting and sustainable development. He hopes that Tongji and the Italian department work together to bring more enterprises to join them. The demonstration building that Italy environment department and Tongji co-built on Tongji campus will display the cooperation achievements of China and Italy in techniques of environment protection. They will also build “Sino-Italy design center” which has been agreed by Chinese and Italian government. This will offer an effective platform for Italian small and medium-sized enterprises to enter China. Consequently, it will increase the demonstration effect and influence of ecosystem construction to the largest extend.
At last, Tongji president Gang Wan thanked the director for his support and promotion. He also formally invited the director to attend the “international creation and sustainable development forum” that will be held during Tongji 100thbirthday celebration.
