On the morning of Feb. 3rd, accompanied by Herve Ladsous, ambassador of France in China and Thierry Mathou, sonsul-general of France in Shanghai, Gilles de Robien together with his retinue, 36 people in all, visited Jiading Campus of our university. Gang Wan, our President had a friendly talk with Gilles de Robien in Automotive Engineering Center.
During their talk, President Gang Wan introduced the development and current status of Tongji University, as well as the exchanges with France; Minister Gilles fully affirmed our exchange achievements with France. He also recalled the history of the cooperation between our university and French universities, organizations and enterprises. He hopes that there are more educational and scientific researching cooperation. After the talk, President Gang Wan presented our school mark and the model of super fuel cell powered vehicle as a gift to Mr. Gilles.
Then President Gang Wan showed Gilles de Robien and his retinue around the labs of the automotive engineering center, introducing the research and development of China clean vehicle and fuel cell vehicle. Minister Gilles showed his interest and drove the super fuel cell vehicle number 3 that our school developed independently.
Jun Chen, General Manager of Hangzhou Wangxiang Company, Bin Xiao, Suzhou Xingheng Power Source Company, as well as Qi Dong, our principal assistant attended the talk and accompanied the visit.
Large deputy was headed by Minister Grilles during this visit. The deputy includes diplomatic consultant, François Decoster; minister consultant, Jean-Louis Nembrini; news consultant, Guénola du Couedic; Scientific research consultant, Dharman Sury; leader of international and Europe exchange & cooperation association, Marc Foucault--- 24 people altogether. Besides, it also includes 12 people from scientific field and enterprises, such as secretary of France automobile inter-department team, Jacaues Saint-Marc; Director of France National Scientific Research department Jacqueline Lecourtier; Director of France National Scientific Research Center Chemistry branch Cilberte Chambaud; Director of Compressible chemical materials research center of CNRS, Claude Delmas; Director of Solid state chemistry & reaction lab of CNRS, Jeqn-Marie Tarascon; Director of France national ground-based traffic and traffic safety research institute, François Badin; Director of research section of Citreon company---the symbol of France, Jean-Pierre Goedgebuer; Manager of Miqilin company “Bi Deng competition in Shanghai”, François de Saintvictor; and so on.
