On February 16, the mayor Mr. Han came to Tong Ji to send his New Year wishes to the students staying on campus during the winner vacation. He stopped by every student in the reception room, and asked questions like, “where are you from?”, "do you adapt to shanghai?” and “wish you a happy new year and make progress day by day”.
Mr. Han first paid a visit to the South-east No.8 Building in Si Ping Campus, sent his regards and best wishes to the students and students supervisors who did not go back home in winter vacation. Then, he joined the party “Spring in Tong Ji- the Students in the Community are Hand-in-Hand”, and had a discussion with the students on Shanghai Expo, Tong Ji Centennial, energy-saving and popular science.
When having a discussion on “shanghai expo”, Mr. Han exchanged the ideas with the students, and looked around the “the expo in my dream” expedition. When it came to the theme of “Tong Ji Centennial”, the student representative gave a special introduction of Tong Ji glorious history and presented a gift of an old picture of university gate. The mayor accepted it with great joy and also an album named “harmonious tower-Shanghai Expo design works”.
Apart from the mayor, the Shanghai Deputy Secretary Liu Yungeng, Yin Yicui, the Deputy Mayor Yan Junqi, Yang Dinghua, the Secretary of Shanghai Science and Education Committee Li Xuanhai, the Director of Shanghai Education Committee, the Secretary Zhou Jialun, the President Wan Gang and the Deputy Secretary Ma Jinming were among the visiting group.
