United Nations Environment Program-IESD of Tong Ji started the 2nd recruitment in 2007 of Masters majoring in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development.
Under the support of United Nations Environment Program, IESD started the Masters’ courses on international “environmental management and sustainable development”. This is the first time that the United Nations cooperates with a university to work on a degree education. The former vice secretary of the United Nations were engaged as the first professor of IESD. IESD set relative courses for the international Master class, considering the current environmental problems at home and abroad and consulting the teaching methods and experience of the environment department in other countries. They also invited experts and professors on environment science and technology. These courses include the basic knowledge of environment science and technology and other relevant courses, like environmental economics, law, programming and management. Both the United Nations Environment Program and the students in the class approved these courses. In 2007, IESD will continue recruit Masters and will start Doctor Recruitment Program.
