Academician Wang Pinxian Awarded Milankovitch Prize by EGU

On the occasion of Tong Ji 100thanniversary, academician Wang Pinxian of School of Ocean and Earth Science was awarded Milankovitch Prize by EGU for his achievements in paleoceanography development of West Atlantic and the research in monsoon study, especially his outstanding achievements in the research of monsoon study of South China Sea.

On the award ceremony, which was held at the Pallavicini Palace in Vienna, academician Wang pinxian gave a speech entitled “Perceive the Pulse of the Earth from Monsoon Records”.

The Milankovitch Prize was established to commend the outstanding scientists who have made great contribution in the study of macrometeorlogy and climate modeling. Mr. Wang pinxian was the first Chinese who have won the prize which is regarded the most valuable award in paleoclimate and paleoceanography.
