As one of the significant celebrating activities of Tong Ji centennial, the 4thArchiprix international was held in our university recent days.
The organizing committee is composed of two parties: Rotterdam Archiprix Office and Tong Ji University. The Present Wan Gang was appointed the chairman of our parity. It is reported that 160 design pieces from 5 continents were received, among which 21 won the finalist awards and 7 pieces from Russia, Chile, Holland, Japan, Costa Rica, Austria and China won golden awards.
The 4thArchiprix International is a students’ graduating masterpiece exhibition and competition held in world-wide scale. In all, 1300 architecture universities or colleges from over 50 countries participated in the competition. According to the rules, the most excellent students’ work in the year of 2005 and 2006 would be entitled to be submitted to the organizing committee, thus the Archiprix International is a pageant of the best work in world architecture, the city planning and design, and scenery architecture.
In this Archiprix International, more than 70 students and 7 tutors took part in a working campaign named “city design of Dongjiadu area in Shanghai”, and an exhibition of the competing works were put on display in the Exhibition Hall of the School of Architecture and City Planning.
