UN Environment Programming Office Continued the Co-operation Agreement

On May 18th, Vice secretary-general of UN, administer of the UN Environment Programming Office Achim Steiner and our Principal Gang Wan signed the extended co-operation agreement of the co-built “UN Environment Programming Office---Tongji University Environment Sustainable development College”. Achim Steiner was also employed as our honor professor.

As introduced, the Environment Sustainable Development College has been working at cultivating technical and management elites for the world especially developing countries since its birth on May 9th, 2005. The college also takes part in local or world environment protection project organized by the UN Environment Programming Office. During the five years, it has held three terms of extended courses for future leaders of environment and sustainable development in Asian Pacific region; three terms of HSBC-Tongji extended courses of environment and sustainable development; and international courses of small island countries’ sustainable development. It started the “International Master’s Degree Project” on environment management and sustainable development.
