The 2007 graduation ceremony was held at the Student Hall on Siping campus on the morning of June 25th. Attendants included the Minister of Science and Technology Ministry and President of Tongji Prof. Wan Gang, the Party Secretary Zhou Jialun, academician of China Science Academy Prof. Wang Pinxian, the Vice-president Yang Dongyuan, Li Guoqiang, Chen Xiaolong, Zhao Jianfu. The ceremony was hosted by Zhou jialun.
It is introduced that there are in all 9308 graduates of different academic levels, among whom 276 were awarded “Shanghai outstanding graduates” and 295 “Tongji outstanding graduates”. Of all the graduates, more than 10 postgraduates will go to Yuanmou County in Yunnan Province and Yibin in Sichuan Province to support education in remote areas for one year. More than 10 undergraduate students have taken part in volunteer groups, and they will go to western part of China, such as Tibet, Yunnan, Chongqing for one or two years.
