On August 27th, the 2ndSino-German Summer School was started in Tongji. The vice-president of Tongji University Prof. Zhou Zuyi, the vice director of Education Committee of Shanghai Jiaotong University Prof. Sheng Huanye, Prof. Winnacker from German Erlangen-Nuemberg University, the Assistant President of Tongji Prof. Dong Qi, the vice-director Chen Lesheng of Sino-German Science Center which sponsors Summer School and the President of Siemens (Shanghai) Medical Equipment Ltd., attended the opening ceremony and gave speeches respectively.
Themed on “the electronics achievement---research from materials to systems”, the Summer School was designed for 43 postgraduate students majored in electronics and material science from these there universities. During its two weeks duration, more than 20 professors from Tongji, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Erlangen-Nuemberg will give lectures focusing on material and electronics engineering to display features of the cross-disciplinary and their corresponding effects. At the same time, the students do have opportunity to communicate thoroughly with the students and professors from different universities. Beside, visits to university labs and Medical Department of Siemens are arranged.
