President Pei Gang paid a visit to Hong Kong from September 11 to 13 at the invitation of Shaw Yi-fu Foundation. Just on the day of his arrival in Hong Kong, President Pei was specially invited to attend the award ceremony of “Shaw Award” held in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
President Pei also visited China Resources Corporation and Phoenix Television. In China Resources Corporation, President Pei exchanged ideas with Mr. Song Lin, the board chairman and general manager of this corporation, on further implementation and development of established Architectural Design & Research Institute as well as reaching the intention of cooperation in the field of medicine and so on. At Phoenix Television, Vice-president Zhong Danian, on behalf of President Liu Chang-le met President Pei, who thanked the support and help offered by Phoenix TV during Tongji University’s Centennial Celebration and put forward some suggestions and assumptions on developing cooperation in mass communications and so forth. Vice-president Zhong indicated that Phoenix TV would be willing to develop farther cooperation with Tongji University.
In addition, President Pei met some schoolfellows while he stayed in Hong Kong.
