Prof. Pei Gang, the President of Tongji University was invited to Italy from Nov. 12th to 15th. During his stay in Italy, he signed a series of cooperation agreements, which would definitely enhance the cooperation in education, scientific research and enterprises between Italy and Tongji University.
On Nov. 12th, President PEI was invited to the Semester Opening Ceremony of Milan Polytechnic University. As a cooperation partner of Sino-Italian Campus of the University, Milan Polytechnic University enjoys a high reputation in engineering and design. Before the ceremony, President Pei held a talk with the President of Milan Polytechnic University and was showed around the art exhibition on campus. According to the agreement, Tongji University, Milan Polytechnic University and Polytechnic University of Turin will take joint effort in Dual Master Degree Program in Industrial Design.
In the evening of Nov. 12th, the Ms. Moratti, the Mayor of Milan held a talk with President PEI. Both parties agreed to promote the cooperation in education and culture. In addition, Ms. Moratti expressed the concern of Italian Government and business circle about the cooperation with China in the field of education, scientific research, and hoped to strengthen the exchange with Tongji University in talent fostering, scientific research and 2015 world expo bidding.
On the morning of Nov. 13th, President PEI visited Emilia Romagna Region and met Dr. Campagnoli, the Director of Industrial Bureau. They explored the possibility of enhancing the cooperation between Italian enterprises and Tongji University, and signed cooperation agreement of “2nd training course of Italian industrial producing system and management”. According to the agreement, the course will be also included in the selective course of Tongji University.
