On Nov. 29th, the Sino-French Center witnessed the opening ceremony of ISISS’2007, which was co-hosted by Shanghai Institute for Disaster Prevention and Relief and Tongji University. The participants were over 150, among who more than 20 are from Italy, Japan, Poland, USA and Britain, etc.
Prof. Li Yongsheng, Executive Vice President of the University, Prof. Giuseppe Mancini from Italy Turin Polytechnic University, Prof. Wu Zhishen from Japan Ibaraki University, Prof. Shen Zuyan, academician of CAE and Chairman of the Symposium presented the opening ceremony and delivered speech respectively.
The two-day conference will be centered on themes like the research and application of new materials in civil engineering, innovation and development of analysis theory of engineering structure, the research and application of structural durability, health monitoring and theory of structural control, research of innovation and intelligent system of engineering structure, and research of technology of disaster prevention and relief in urban area.
