Recently, the Ministry of Education and the Academic Degrees Committee of State Council announced the 2007 National Excellent doctoral dissertation, a total of 98 papers selected.
The Dissertation “Residual Life Riveted Steel Bridge and the Use Security Evaluation”, written by Dr. Wang Chunsheng from School of Civil Engineering was named 2007 National Excellent doctoral dissertation. The dissertation was co-supervised by Prof. Chen Airong and Prof. Chen Weizhen.
Selecting outstanding Doctoral Dissertation is an important measure of our country to encourage innovation and to promote blooming of the high level creative talents. Since its implementation in 1991, it has had an important influence on colleges, universities and research academies and institutes of the whole nation, and become one of the important indexes to judge the Quality of Graduates cultivation. At present, eight dissertations of our university were selected, of which four were composed by doctors majoring in Bridge specialty. All these are embodying the big achievements we have got in the aspects of specialists-fostering, comprehensive discipline level and etc.
