Dr. Joachim Lorenz, Director of Advisory Committee of ThyssenKrupp AG and professor of Sino-German College of Tongji University has to bid farewell to his loving work as a cultural envoy. On April 12th, a farewell ceremony was held for him by Sino-German College. Dr. Lorenz made a speech namedCultural Amicability between Countries Guarantees International Cooperationon the ceremony.
As an expert developing technical market in China, Japan and Korea for ages, Dr. Lorenz knew the differences between Asian culture and European culture and clearly understood the significance of culture and human amicability in the international cooperation. In the recent decade, he offered suggestions and advices for the college work and made great contribution to the development of Sino-German College. Dr. Lorenz praised highly the Sino-German friendliness policy established by top leaders of the two countries in his speech. In addition, he reviewed Tongji’s history and emphasized the importance of Sino-German College’s foundation for cultural communication between the two countries. He said that cultural amicability between countries guaranteed international cooperation. Thanks to mutual understanding and respect, people could reach an agreement on economic negotiation and industrial cooperation. He hoped that the Sino-German College was not only a disseminator of German Language and culture, but also publicizing Chinese language and culture towards Germany.
After the ceremony, Sino-German College invited Dr. Lorenz and Alfred Wewers, President of ThyssenKrupp AG (China) Investment Co. Ltd. at Sanhaowu Restaurant, Tongji.
