On May 7th, Dr. Ye Tianzheng, the Chief Technology Officer of IBM Greater China led a delegation to visit Tongji University. Vice-president Yang Dongyuan exchanged ideas with the guests about developing cooperative research projects with IBM, jointly launching theSSME (Serve Science, Serve Management, and Service Evaluation), scientific research in the discipline direction and course construction based on multi-discipline characteristic of Tongji. Zhou Xingming, academician and dean of Software College, Prof. Huo Jiazhen, dean of College of Economics and Management and Dr. Liu Qin, executive vice dean of Software College attended the meeting.
In the afternoon, Dr. Ye came to the Jiading Campus of Tongji and gave an academic report titledExpect of IBM Global Technology in 2008 in International Conference Center. Using latest research achievements in IBM as examples, Dr. Ye explained the application of information technology in calculation, communication, storage, software, Web 2.0, promotion of cooperation and cultural exchange. Jiang Fuming, the DeputySecretary of University Party Committee was present at the meeting and presented the guests with souvenirs of Tongji.
