Tongji and University of Bologna jointly Held Italian Food Cultural Festival

Mediterranean Vegetable Soup, Milan Cutlet, Stewed Diced Rabbit Meat, Pasta with Pork…At noon of May 13th, 500 dinners of Italian flavor were sold out immediately on the 2ndfloor of Xueyuan Dining Hall. Italian Food Cultural Festival Jointly held by Tongji and University of Bologna unveiled and would last for 3 days.

While the communication and cooperation between Tongji University and Italy became more and more vigorous, logistics group got in touch with University of Bologna last year and designed theItalian Food Cultural Festival. This activity received warm response and active support from the Italian partner.

The Italian side dispatched two skilled cooks specially for this festival. From 13thto 15th, 500 Italian dinners would be served for our Teachers and students at the Dining Hall every day. Each dinner consisted of two meat dishes, one vegetable dish, one soup and main food and the dishes would change every day.

It was known that holding food cultural festivals has became a long term cooperative project of logistics group of Tongji and Italian universities to develop the Sino-Italian communication on the food cultures. ThisItalian Food Cultural Festivalwas the first step in Sino-Italian communication on the food cultures and was hopefully to be kept in the future.
