Recently, 28 units were classified as Shanghai Circulative Economy Experimental Units. Tongji University was among the list and was the only university in the list.
According to the arrangement, the experimental period was three years. During the three-year, the units should make great progress in the fields of energy conservation and emission reduction. From 2007, the University began to build the resource-efficient campus, and got consensus through the participation of faculty, students and staff on resource saving. The resource-saving solution has been approached through three ways of technology, management and education, and with the participation of all and in every stage and then we could reach the objectives of energy saving through education and behavior approach and harmonious campus. The achievements our university had obtained in the aspect of resource-efficient campus construction also attracted the attention of the society and media.
